Dr. Santiago was born and raised in Washington D.C. He is a graduate of the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, VA. He completed advanced training from the Columbia Presbyterian Hospital Affiliate in Harlem, NY. He was a Medical Officer with the Public Health Service in Miami, FL. and San Francisco, CA.

While in California, he was involved in medical research and was a staff physician at Mt. Zion Hospital, University of California in San Francisco.

Professional appointments past and present  include: Chairman Elect 2000, Dept. of Internal Medicine, St. Elizabeth Hospital, Member of the Medical Executive Board Committee, Baptist Hospital. System,CMO of the Five Star Health Network, Medical Director of Utilization, Christus St. Elizabeth Hosp., Adjunct Professor,Institute of Healthcare-OLLU, Asst. Clinical Professor, UTMB, MBA- Healthcare Administration.

He is married with 2 children, plays guitar & percussion. He is a staff musician at his church.  He studied in the culinary arts & loves to cook gourmet dishes.
